Martin Yan, my mentor, and debuting on China’s largest television network, CCTV

It’s been an honor and a privilege to work alongside Chef Martin Yan for the past year on various projects.

I can’t believe we only met in May when I went on a culinary tour with him to China and Hong Kong! If you’d like to see those videos, you can watch them all in my playlist here.

Well, my most recent adventure has been appearing on international television as a guest on Martin Yan’s Chinese New Year special, filmed by the CCTV team all the way from China. I saw the CCTV headquarters when I visited China in May, but never imagined I’d meet people from the crew so soon!

But when did I really meet Martin? Well, he’s a UC Davis alum and he came to the dining commons one night to do a demonstration! Watch an old video when I used to be a reporter for AggieTV:
