A finalist for a leadership award in new media?!

Words cannot express the gratitude and honor I feel in having been a finalist, let alone nominated, for this award. I received word from the judging panel that several individuals in the community had nominated me and I am currently trying to ask for the list to personally thank each and every one of you who did. This is SUCH an honor and I only hope to continue creating positive content while collaborating with more individuals and leaders in our community.

As a finalist for the Emerging Leader award, I am in fantastic company alongside Lisa Lee of Hyphen Magazine and Andrew Lam of New American Media. These two are role models for ME, so to be in the same category…I’m just speechless. Whether I “win” or “lose”, I am already so grateful to have even been a finalist.

I would like to invite you all to celebrate Asian American Heritage Month (the month of MAY!) Monday, May 2nd at Herbst Theater. It will be a free night of festivities, food, and cultural celebration, so I hope you can make it!

And here is information for the list of the 2011 Finalists!

Also, the finalists were announced at Mayor Edwin Lee’s press conference on his balcony with a lunch immediately following. Here are some pictures from the day–I, again, was in fantastic company!
